‘World IT Show’ Takes Place from May 23rd to 26th
With the theme of ‘IT’S SMART’, showcases latest technologies like AI, IoT, SW, Autonomous Vehicle, Blockchain
The 2018 World IT Show(WIS 2018) will be held at COEX in Seoul for four days from May 23 to 26. As Asia is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, it is held here in Korea where it takes advantage of being a testing market in ICT field.
The World IT Show, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, started in 2008 and celebrates its 11th anniversary this year. Known as a B2B specialized exhibition in IT field, WIS has served as a place to showcase innovative new technologies and products of domestic and overseas every year.
In fact, as of last year, about 500 companies of domestic and from 10 different countries joined the race on a scale of 1,500 booths. Furthermore, buyers from 26-countries have also visited the venue. They achieved actual business contract results with the participating companies.
This year, with the theme of ‘IT’s Smart’, more that 500 domestic companies in the IT and IT-related fields are participating the 2018 World IT Show.
Major fields of participation are; ICT Device, SW/Computing, Digital Contents/ Smart Media, Convergence Service, Latest Mobile Communication, etc. In particular, it presents new products and services of 2018 industry key issues like AI, IoT, 5G, AR/VR, Autonomus car, Smart city&Smart grid, Smart agriculture, Realistic media, O4O(Online for Offline), Big data and Blockchain.
It also prepares a variety of auxiliary events that will greatly enhance B2B-like characteristic which is to share the outlook of fast-changing ICT industry and to help companies enter overseas market.
On the other hand, concurrent events like ‘ICT Future Leaders Forum’ and ‘ICT Tech Commercialization Festival’ are held, as well as ‘Global Accelerator Conference and Demonstration Day’ where overseas Accelerators(AC) and Venture Capitals(VC) are invited to give promising startups in Korea a pitching opportunity to attract investment.
